Become a Licensed Vocational Nurse

Learn to care for patients of all ages through Austin Community College’s nationally recognized vocational nursing program. Through classroom, lab, and clinical experiences, you’ll learn patient-care skills including patient counseling, IV placement, monitoring vital signs, and much more. This program offers flexible pathways including a certificate, stackable credits, and associate degree, to meet individual needs and backgrounds.

The Vocational Nursing Program at Austin Community College is a special admissions program with limited availability. Students preparing for the program should select “General Studies in Pre-Health Sciences” as their major on the application. Because requirements may change, consult the program website to confirm current requirements. Admission to the college does not guarantee entrance into a particular course or program of study.
